John Knox's Pulpit

In central Fife lies the Lomond Hills Regional Park. It became Scotland's first regional park in 1986 and is accessible via a lengthy network of paths. On the west side of the park is Glen Vale, where John Knox's Pulpit is situated. A unique formation, the grey sandstone in the hills has been eroded away over time leaving an unusual hollow in the slopes. A small river tumbles down it, creating the charming Glen Vale waterfalls. If you start at the Glen Vale carpark, getting to the falls will only take around half an hour or so but the trail leads on further into the park. The waterfalls are interesting but because of their enclosed nature the compositions are quite limited. The surrounding hills are also picturesque and worth exploring.
