The village of Glamis is probably best known for being the home of Glamis Castle. A popular visitor destination with an interesting history involving many prominent historical figures, Glamis Castle inspired Shakespeare's Macbeth and was the childhood home of HM Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother. You can find more information about the Castle and the events to happen there on their website. The most popular shot of Glamis castle can be taken from the long road leading to it, with trees lining either side of the road. It is quite a symmetrical composition, and your eyes are drawn to the castle at the road's end. There are, however, other things worth photographing in Glamis. There is a burn that runs by the edge of the town and a forested path network running alongside it. The path goes by some ancient looking trees and includes some attractive little bridges. A waterfall is also concealed in the woods on the other side of the A94 which goes around Glamis. It is not very easily accessible but once you get there, a path leads all the way to the falls.
